Kiwi Festival at Purgetos
With this event the Municipality of Tempi portrays the kiwi of the region that are distinguished nationwide. This effort seems to have been a great success, since the kiwi of Purgetos-Aegani have become more widely known.
Each year, 200 to 300 acres of new kiwi crops are added by producers and this is done, according to the Mayor, with the creation of appropriate infrastructure, such as the irrigation project Pyrgetos-Aegani, which saved more than 500 acres of water salinisation. During the event, guests had the opportunity to taste kiwi and various kiwi-based candies.
