Kato Olympos - Nature
Between Olympos and Ossa, to the northeastern part of Thessaly, Kato Olympos stretches with extensive fir, beech, black pine and chestnut forests, streams, pastures and agricultural crops.
Although it is only 11 kilometers from the sea, it extends to a high altitude range, between 100 and 1588 meters, at the Metamorphosis peak.
Several streams flow through the area and end up on the Pinios River, while mountaineering paths can satisfy both the simple hiker and the trained climber and scrambler.
